Traffic Calming Measures

Transportation is a vital part of the everyday life for all urban citizens, in every community of Calgary. Local and collector residential roads are multi-purpose, shared facilities where motor vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists typically co-exist in relative harmony. Transportation needs are unique for each community and require a balance between mobility, affordability and environmental and community impacts.

When communities feel that liveability and safety are compromised by inadequacies of the transportation systems in their communities, there are a number of ways they can work with The City of Calgary to address concerns. The first step in addressing transportation and traffic concerns is for the community to submit the “Community Traffic Issue Reporting Form” to The City for evaluation. The City will then prioritize communities for traffic studies.

If you have immediate concerns that can be addressed by Calgary Police Service please click on the link below and complete a Traffic Safety Request online.

The request will go directly to Calgary Police Traffic Division for follow up.
