Snow Route Parking Bans

This winter Calgary will implement Snow Route parking bans for the first time in our City’s history. Snow Route parking bans are temporary parking restrictions on designated routes that will be in effect for up to 72 hours following snow falls of 2 inches/5 centimetres or more. The City will declare a “snow event” in order to clear Priority 1 and 2 roadways.
These streets are now signed with small street signs depicting a white snowflake on a blue background, but only at the beginning of each designated street. Watch for these signs in your community.
You can sign up on the City’s website at www.calgary.ca for automatic email alerts to determine when an official snow event is declared or when one is lifted in The City of Calgary.
To sign up for email alerts please click on the link below and follow the instructions. http://www.calgary.ca/Transportation/Roads/Pages/Road-Maintenance/Snow-and-ice-control/Snow-Route-parking-bans.aspx
When a snow event is declared in the future, if you have concerns or questions I welcome you to contact my Office – however, it is also very important that you also contact 311, either by phone or email at ccweb@calgary.ca . 311 will track all communications for Roads in order to determine any problem areas that may need special attention during this year’s snow clearing pilot project.
Thank you for your patience as the City embarks on this very important project.
